Relay Manufacturing Process

Sep 18, 2025
  1. Raw Material Preparation: The main raw materials for manufacturing relays include copper wire, magnets, iron cores, insulating materials, and alloys. Among them, copper wire is mainly used for winding electromagnetic coils, while magnets and iron cores are used to manufacture the electromagnetic system. Insulating materials are used to insulate the windings, and alloys are used to make the contact system. During the raw material preparation stage, these materials must be carefully selected and subjected to quality inspection to ensure they meet the product production requirements.
  2. Processing and Manufacturing: In this stage, raw materials are processed and manufactured using machines or manual work. First, the copper wire is wound to produce electromagnetic coils. Then, the magnets and iron cores are cut, stamped, and processed to manufacture the electromagnetic system. At the same time, alloy materials are used to make the contact system. High-precision machines and hand tools are required in this process.
  3. Assembly: In the assembly process, the electromagnetic system with wound coils is assembled with the contact system, insulating materials, and other components to form the basic structure of the relay. The assembly process must strictly comply with production standards and operating specifications to ensure the quality and performance of the product.
  4. Testing: Finally, the finished relays are tested. The testing includes static testing and dynamic testing. Static testing mainly detects parameters such as insulation resistance and contact resistance; dynamic testing mainly detects indicators such as operating voltage, release voltage, and operating time. Only relays that pass the testing can be delivered to the market for use.
